All National History Day in Colorado contests, including the Boulder Valley Regional, are made possible by generous volunteers. You don't have to be a subject matter expert or a fan of history, you just have to be willing to lend a critical eye to student work to help them grown and improve their critical thinking, reading, and writing skills in preparation for the post-secondary world.

Judges at the Boulder Valley Regional can expect the following time commitments:

• Judging preliminary rounds ONLY: approx. 8:00 am to 1:00 pm

• Judging final rounds ONLY: approx. Noon to 3:00 pm

• Judging both preliminary and final rounds: 8:00 am to 3:00 pm

All judges are trained the morning of the contest. Digital training materials are also provided.

​

Breakfast and lunch and provided on the day of the contest. 

​

Professional development hours are available for K-12 teachers.
